Customer Review: Simple sure, but a little contrived (3 Stars)
Okay, this was written by an adult, attempting to give voice to her son's perspective on living with AS. While this was a fine but narrow view of some of the characteristics of some AS individuals, sadly I found the text to seem a bit "dumbed-down" or overly simplistic--really not how most kids I know actually talk. I gave this book to my 10-year old who was recently given the diagnosis and is having a difficult time with the idea of having any kind of "syndrome". Customer Review: This is the Book to Put NT Translators Out of Business (5 Stars)
For people with autism/Asperger's, this book is the book to have in understanding colloquialisms, idioms and metaphors. Instead of relying on neurotypical (NT) counterparts to interpret and translate these phrases, just keep this book handy. It's the ideal tool to have when learning the language of the NT world.

The book offers a highly useful, carefully considered selection of essays on HFA or Asperger's, including documents written by those affected by the disorder. Highly recommended!
